Dancewave Company III (DCIII) is Dancewave’s newest pre-professional performing company. Designed to nurture the artistic growth and viewpoints of our young dancers, DC III follows the same educational model as DC I & DC II, but requires less technical proficiency and familiarity with the art form.

REPERTORY AND CURRENT GUEST CHOREOGRAPHERS

This season (2012-2013), DC III is working with Nicola Penfold and Matthew Westerby

REHEARSAL AND TRAINING

DC III provides a training ground for younger teens who require a more nurturing and supportive environment. Students are required to attend 1 1-hour 15 minute rehearsal per week, working with one choreographer per year. During this time, the guest choreographer sets the piece onto the ensemble and mentors participants. DC III rehearsals take place once a week on Saturdays and are devoted to learning new choreography. DC III’s inaugural choreographer was Jaclyn Walsh (Keigwin+ Co). Members are encouraged to develop their technique and performance skills and ultimately audition for DC II.

In addition to rehearsals, DC III is required to attend a minimum of one technique class – Modern IIA. It is also strongly encouraged that DC III members take an additional ballet class.

Our programs follow the school year from September to June, divided into 2 semesters lasting 15-17 weeks each. All classes, performances and rehearsals take place outside regularly scheduled school hours. Performances occur throughout the year, including Dancewave’s signature performance series
Kids Cafe Festival and our Spring Celebration. The 2012-13 Season has closed. Please check the School at Dancewave page (located on the navigation bar to the right) in late July 2013 to view class and rehearsal schedule for the 2013-14 Season.
