APPOINTMENT TYPES AND RATES

Dancewave is committed to providing an accessible and fully equipped incubator space for creative processing and rehearsing in the performing arts.

Starting in January 2025, Dancewave is able to offer 1,400 hours of rehearsal space annually for eligible artists at $10/hr on a first come, first serve basis. All eligible artists must apply to receive access to the subsidized rate which is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Subsidized Rehearsal Rental Program Eligibility

We invite all artists to apply whose practices are grounded in dance and are seeking financial subsidies. These subsidies are allocated to artists booking space specifically for creating and rehearsing dance-based works. 

Artists accepted into the program will not need to reapply at any point during the current calendar year. If an artist is interested in reserving space for any purpose other than rehearsal, they will need to do so through our rentals booking page.

How to receive the subsidized rate:

  1. Apply to the subsidized rehearsal program (3-5 minute questionnaire)
  2. Receive eligibility notice via email within 24 hours
  3. Book space under the subsidized rate through a private booking link valid for one year

ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES

The Dancewave Center is located on the ground floor, where all facilities are accessible on the same level. There are windows and mirrors throughout the center allowing for ample natural light. Rentals feature a mobile, semi sound-proof curtain that can divide the space into two separate studios.


4 different lighting presets ranging from bright to neutral to bluelight


Braille is available on all facilities signage


Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral


Quiet areas for rest and low stimulation can be provided upon request

Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and safe space for all. For everyone's health and wellbeing, Dancewave reserves the right to terminate Rental Agreements for those found in violation of these policies.

  • Mask wear in the studio is encouraged but not required; disposable masks are available
  • No refunds if canceled less than 7 days before rental date
  • Payment is required in advance to secure the space
  • No food or beverages allowed in the studio space, water only.

FOOTWEAR POLICY: The use of tap, flamenco, hard-heeled, high-heeled shoes and black-sole sneakers are all prohibited in the Studio. Sneakers are permitted, granted the Renters and their guests, invitees, agents and associates have freed the shoe of any excessive dirt or debris that could track onto the studio floor. The Renter agrees to maintain the cleanliness of the studio floor to the same effect they found the studio at the start of the appointed rental time.

Space Intact Policy: Renters are prohibited from moving into another studio space during their reservation for any reason. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and safe space for all. For everyone's health and wellbeing, Dancewave reserves the right to terminate Rental Agreements for those found in violation of these policies.

SOUND DISCLOSURE: The Dancewave studio has three available studio spaces, Studio A and Studio B are divided by two sound reducing curtains. For reservations booked in either Studio A or Studio B, renters should be aware that there may be sound carrying over from the neighboring studio.
