APPOINTMENT TYPES

NYC-based dance artists receive a subsidized hourly rehearsal rate of $10/hr thanks to a grant received by Dance/NYC’s New York City Dance Rehearsal Space Subsidy Program. The Full Studio is only available at the $10/hr rate for dance rehearsals for group sizes 9+.

Private Lesson bookings are ideal for teachers hosting a small group lesson (1-3 people).

For teaching artists seeking a space to host a class or workshop in a large studio (1400 sq.ft). Recommended occupancy of 30 people for movement related classes & workshops.

Host your audition day at Dancewave! 90 minute reservation includes a 15 minute set-up, 1 hour audition and a 15 minute break-down. Booking includes 1 table, and 3 chairs.

Additional amenities available such a projector or additional seating to accommodate large groups. 90 minute reservation includes 30 minutes for setting up and/or breaking down the studio/lobby space as needed.

For artists seeking rehearsal space; utilize the full studio (1400 sq. ft) with no volume restrictions. Protective floor covering is included in rental if using heavy equipment.

ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES

The Dancewave Center is located on the ground floor, where all facilities are accessible on the same level. There are windows and mirrors throughout the center allowing for ample natural light. Rentals feature a mobile, semi sound-proof curtain that can divide the space into two separate studios.

Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral

Quiet areas for rest and low stimulation can be provided upon request

Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and safe space for all. For everyone's health and wellbeing, Dancewave reserves the right to terminate Rental Agreements for those found in violation of these policies.

  • Mask wear in the studio is encouraged but not required; disposable masks are available
  • No refunds if canceled less than 7 days before rental date
  • Payment is required in advance to secure the space
  • No food or beverages allowed in the studio space, water only.

FOOTWEAR POLICY: The use of tap, flamenco, hard-heeled, high-heeled shoes and black-sole sneakers are all prohibited in the Studio. Sneakers are permitted, granted the Renters and their guests, invitees, agents and associates have freed the shoe of any excessive dirt or debris that could track onto the studio floor. The Renter agrees to maintain the cleanliness of the studio floor to the same effect they found the studio at the start of the appointed rental time.

Space Intact Policy: Renters are prohibited from moving into another studio space during their reservation for any reason. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and safe space for all. For everyone's health and wellbeing, Dancewave reserves the right to terminate Rental Agreements for those found in violation of these policies.

SOUND DISCLOSURE: The Dancewave studio has three available studio spaces, Studio A and Studio B are divided by two sound reducing curtains. For reservations booked in either Studio A or Studio B, renters should be aware that there may be sound carrying over from the neighboring studio.
